La Herradura

This town is the jewel of the province of Granada Coast and one of the most prestigious and sought-after areas to own a property.

The town owes its name to the horse shoe shape of its bay, and the untouched vegetation areas, fauna and the sea between Cerro Gordo and Maro make it the ideal place to spend time with the family, either taking in the beauty of the area or practicing  one of the many water sports (scuba diving being the most popular). Beauty is not just above water here. The area was declared a Natural Site in the 80s, as the rich marine floor preserves a number of endangered species.

Beaches are another of its appeals, like the Naturist Beach of Cantarriján, within a protected area. Boat lovers must visit the Puerto deportivo de Marina del Este, where you will find some of the most luxurious yachts and a growing fun and leisure area.

Walking through the streets of this beautiful town takes you closer to the real essence of Andalusia. Enjoy its beautiful landscapes and gastronomy at any of the numerous bars and restaurants in the area.

Activities for everyone

There are a number of sports to be enjoyed on the coast, such as paragliding, trekking, kayak, scuba diving, paddle surf and the ever-so-popular sailing sports, but let us not forget  about skiing at Sierra Nevada with its 100 km of ski slopes and excellent quality snow located at just 1h 15’ away by car.
